Bush Gothic

The Boite presents Bush Gothic in an intimate evening of stories, songs and tales.
Vocalist, Jenny M Thomas who has previously been compared to Dolores O’Riorden from The Cranberries, double bassist, Dan Witton and drummer, Chris Lewis project a tragic, comic style that sits somewhere between darkness and pure joy. Catch them in their hometown of Eltham as they fill the mudbrick hall with tales of the Bush Gothic.

After a whirlwind year of international touring, festival headlining and challenging the Australian folkocracy, Bush Gothic present a rare show in their hometown. Favourites of the UK art-folk scene, they were given a 5 Star review in the BBC Music Magazine and ‘The Natural Selection Australian Songbook’ was chosen as a runner up for 'Roots 2016 Album of the Year'. This daring trio will turn your expectations about trad music upside down as they re-imagine trad Australian folk music until the unfashionable is transformed into rebellious beauty.
