Senes Flamenco presents SoMoS

Somos is Spanish for we are. We are simply, who we are, from all corners of the world with a rich and diverse cultural heritage, brought together by our will to express and communicate through a showcase of traditional Flamenco music as well as Classical Spanish Guitar. The two genres have existed side by side in Spain over centuries as did the Moors with the Jewish, Christian and Arabic cultures, in a golden age in Spain. The performance reveals contrasts between the two styles, but also their underlying connections highlighting Spain’s rich cultural heritage.Through Flamenco, SoMoS brings together a fresh generation of Melbourne based artists.

Sebastian Orellana - Percussion
Aya Kitaoji – Flamenco dance/percussion
