For almost 50 years, The Boîte has brought people together through music.
 

​We’ve created spaces where artists from many cultures can share stories, languages and traditions, and where audiences can experience the joy of discovering music and communities they may never otherwise encounter.
 

​That work feels more important than ever.

On June 1st, 2026 we celebrated 47 years since The Boite started presenting cultural music right here in Melbourne in response to the wave of migrant communities who came here to establish a new life. Our foundations were built on meaningful connections between artists and audiences, across generations, and emerging and established communities throughout Melbourne.

​

Every concert, every choir rehearsal, every workshop and every community gathering helped create what The Boite is today and in turn 47 years later we have contributed to a stronger, more inclusive cultural life.

​When you support The Boîte, you are giving culturally diverse artists a platform to create and perform, helping communities feel connected through music, and ensuring these experiences remain accessible to participants from all ages and audiences across Victoria.

Why We’re Asking

Like many arts organisations, The Boîte operates in a challenging environment. At the same time, demand for meaningful cultural connection and community participation continues to grow.

​

We want to keep presenting adventurous live music, supporting artists and creating welcoming spaces for people to gather and connect. Community support plays a vital role in making that possible.

$60 — Give a Child a Song

Help support participation in the Boîte Schools Chorus and give a child the opportunity to experience the joy of singing and music-making as part of a community.​

$250 — Support an Artist Performance Opportunity

Help create meaningful paid performance opportunities for artists from culturally diverse communities.
