The Boîte supports excellent artists from diverse cultural communities, promotes audience development through innovative presentation and emphasises access and participation.

Formed in 1979 in recognition of the cultural wealth each wave of migration brings to Australia, the Boîte stands in support of cultural diversity, through the sharing of music, dance and story telling from diverse traditions. Dedicated to supporting artists from all communities, The Boîte aims to promote the community's wider understanding of (and participation in) differing cultural approaches to performing arts.

A unique Community Music & Water Event in Two Amazing Parts - Tarka, the world premier live performance, composed by Harry Williamson and Anthony Philips with the Whitehorse Orchestra conducted by Gerald Keuneman - AND - Our Common Good, A special event with the focus on water, featuring Ruby Hunter, Kavisha Mazzella, Frank Jones, Michael Johnson, Invention in Time and Northern Voice Choir. If you would like to join, 10 places have become available. You need to have sung in the MMC in the past. You need to plan to sing in the 2010 MMC. Participants get a free ticket to this great festival, but have to pay for transport, accommodation and food - and our esteemed conductor.
