The Boîte supports excellent artists from diverse cultural communities, promotes audience development through innovative presentation and emphasises access and participation.

Formed in 1979 in recognition of the cultural wealth each wave of migration brings to Australia, the Boîte stands in support of cultural diversity, through the sharing of music, dance and story telling from diverse traditions. Dedicated to supporting artists from all communities, The Boîte aims to promote the community's wider understanding of (and participation in) differing cultural approaches to performing arts.

webpage under construction

The Boite webpage is undergoing a major overhaul. It's exciting. We can hardly wait! However, we have to because its complicated. Some of the data on this website is out of date and won't be updated until the new page is launched. This does not affect events listings and the Artists Directory which are completely up to date. Membership prices in the shop are correct once you have signed in, but they are incorrectly listed on the webpage. Please bear with us.

Melbourne Millennium Chorus

ENROLMENTS NOW OPEN! Mai Fali Eh is the name of this year's Melbourne Millennium Chorus. Mai Fali Eh means Come Home in Tetum, Timor Leste's most commonly spoken indigenous language and is a well known Lullaby in Timor. Sing Mai Fali Eh with Artistic Directors, Ego Lemos and Andrea Khoza, and assistant choir directors Dani Fry and Stella Savy and the ultra funky house band, the Mystic Trio. more info >>

Boite Membership

Boite membership categories are described reasonably accurately on this Boite website, but the prices are way out of date. Just click on the PAY NOW button which takes you to the shop where the prices are correct once you sign in with your Australian address. All this will be resolved when the new website is launched. more info >>
