An arsenal of eclectic instruments. A diverse repertoire of songs from a rich variety of sources. A voice that’s been known to reduce grown men to tears and rowdy pubs to awed silence. Tasmanian troubadour Jesse McCormack is a striking, unforgettable entertainer with a quirky-yet-authentic performance style. He arranges traditional pieces from a variety of cultures with refreshing enthusiasm, covers other artists’ music in unexpected ways and writes songs about the soap-opera dramas of rival medieval jongleur troupes, the blissful dilemmas of inter-continental bromance, and conquering the dark side of the human psyche. Jesse is a keen collaborator, having played live or in the studio with the likes of Jo Quail, Sarah Calderwood, Claire Patti, Lily and King, and Joel Hagen from Swedish folk group Jaerv, as well as being a founding member of classical/folk fusion duo Zoukin, and inter-generational folk trio Velvet Sledgehammer. His debut album 'The Day Before the Fair' was featured as ABC Radio’s ‘Tasmanian Album of the Week’ shortly after its release in September 2014, and was launched with an international tour including performances at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. His new album 'Enchanted Forest' is currently being recorded.
