With sell-out shows across Melbourne and regional Victoria, the MTO draws upon a wealth of experience. The MTO kicks the cliché and pursues contemporary, urban and edgy tango music. Australia’s only orquesta típica, the MTO performs repertoire from tango’s Golden Era and beyond, featuring strings, piano, double bass and the notorious bandoneón, the quintessential symbol of Argentinean tango.
The newly refurbished Brunswick Ballroom is located in the old Metropolis House on Sydney Road and is destined to take the mantle as one of Melbourne’s most dynamic and exciting performance venues.
