About the Event
Czech multi-instrumental duo Ivo Sedlacek & Pavel Sedlacek return to Australia for their fourth tour and we are deeply honoured to welcome them into Open Space. Hailing from the Czech Republic, these two are truly musicians of the World - having created music and performed in Europe, USA, Canada, Japan, Taiwan, Namibia, Australia and Jordan. Their music is often inspired by a deep response to the natural landscapes they spend much of their time in during their travels.
Their concert will open an absorbing musical journey into the most intimate dimensions of sound – something you may have never heard before: uplifting, relaxing and deeply touching. During the concert you will hear the unique "spherical violin Orion” with 33 strings (the only instrument of its kind in the world), as well as handpan, guitar, tuned glass.
Ivo is a graduate from the Academy of Music in Prague (where he studied violin) and then he spent 5 years on postgraduate music study in India. During the years he has created more than 25 albums with his own original music and his music has brought peace, inspiration and inner harmony to countless listeners around the globe.
Pavel is a multi-instrumentalist and one of the most remarkable world virtuoso players on the unique musical instrument, the handpan.
