About the Event
Omnisutra returns to Open Space with another mesmerising sonic journey - this time transporting you to the mystical realms of ancient Egypt. Come join us for an auditory and spiritual odyssey through a musical rendition of the Book of the Dead, the ancient Egyptian collection of hymns, spells, and prayers designed to guide souls through the afterlife. Through music, we summon the energies of the gods, illuminating the path from mortality to eternity.
The divine forces invoked include Ra, the primordial sun god, who journeys across the sky each day, battling darkness and renewing life; Osiris, the ruler of the underworld and deity of resurrection, who teaches the mysteries of rebirth; Isis, the goddess of magic and wisdom, whose voice carries the secrets of creation and healing; and Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sky, war, and kingship. Their stories echo through time, resonating within the soundscape of this ritualistic performance.
The musical ensemble Omnisutra brings this ancient text to life through an alchemy of sonic elements. Composed of four visionary artists, Omnisutra blends voice, instrument and electronic textures creating an immersive, otherworldly atmosphere.
